This year, we weren't sure if we were going to be able to offer our Ben James Summer Camp, but it was such an interesting year for us. We had to make so many adjustments and changes to our camp model so we appreciate all of families so much for being so patient with us. We were able to offer 2 locations in the HRM which gave over 90 families the opportunity to attend summer camp.
This is a highlight of some of the awesome moments we shared at our Halifax location this year. We did so many awesome art projects and outdoor games. We had the best private playground which we even turn into a water park on the really hot days. We didn't take as many photos as usual because we were so busy having fun. Thank you to the Universalist Unitarian Church of Halifax for allowing us to use your space all summer for camp. SEE YOU NEXT SUMMER! Caitlyn (Camp Director) & Nathaly (Camp Coordinator)

This is a highlight of some of the awesome moments we shared at our Dartmouth location this year. We did so many awesome art projects and gym games. We even got to explore Sullivans Pond which was in walking distance of us. Thank you to the St. James United Church for allowing us to use your space all summer for camp. SEE YOU NEXT SUMMER! Caitlyn (Camp Director) & Hanan (Camp Coordinator) Ben James Summer Camp 2019 has come to an end.
We had the most fun this summer going swimming everyday and exploring places such as the discovery center and the museum of natural history. We have had so many laughs and we are so sad to see it all come to an end. Our team is already hard at work planning for next year. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR :) -Caitlyn, Chrissy, Kathleen, Victoria (Summer Camp Management Team) Camp 3 has come to an end and were sad to see our campers leave but excited to meet new ones next week.
Little Rays Reptile Zoo put on an awesome show for us this week, they even let us name their newest snake; Sophie the snake. We went on adventures to chocolate lake, the discovery center and the museum of natural history. Our friends from the fire station came and spent Friday morning with us despite their busy schedules. They showed us how they put on their gear and how it feels. They told us what to do in case of a fire in order to stay safe. Check out all our pictures below and be sure to follow us on instagram @autismns_ to see stories of what Ben James Summer Camp is getting up to. -Caitlyn, Chrissy, Kathleen and Victoria (Summer Camp Management Team) Camp 2 has started and we are in for a hot couple of weeks...good thing we are able to keep cool by going swimming everyday.
We had a lot of fun on our new plasma cars - campers and counsellors. We went to the discovery center, and hop skip jump, but most importantly we kept cool at the lake, the pool and the splash pad. During our visit with our firefighter friends, we had a surprise visit from a race car driver (we were so excited to explore we forgot to take photos). Our firefighter friends showed us all their gear and even let us use there water pump. What did you do to stay cool during the heatwave? We can't wait for next camp.
